Due to the state of our State with this current Pandemic, BRDNA Board has made plans to postpone this years Celebrating Nursing Banquet.
We are still planning for this year to be a record breaking year since we are celebrating Florence Nightingale’s 200th birthday as well as the International Year of The Nurse and Midwife. This commemorative event will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020, at Boudreaux’s Reception Hall, 2647 Government Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70806.
We want to thank all of you who nominated your colleagues for the Celebrate Nursing Honoree awards. Our selection committee has completed the selection and we are in the process of notifying this years Honorees. Their awards will be presented at our event in September.
We did not receive any nominations for our Scholarship Awards, therefore our Board has decided to reopen the nominations for these two awards, since the event has been postponed until September 14.
Applications submission for the Edith Lobue Memorial Scholarship and the Helen Johnson Cremeens Excellence in Teaching awards will be reopened and we will be announcing the deadline for nominations in the near future. You may submit using the applications linked below.
The Edith Lobue Memorial Scholarship will be presented to two Registered Nurses pursuing advanced degrees in Nursing. Minimum qualifications for this scholarship include being a part-time student in a nursing program who is a member in good standing with the district.
The Helen Johnson Cremeens Excellence in Teaching Award will be presented to a Nurse Educator who teaches in a practical, technical, baccalaureate, masters or doctoral nursing program within the parishes that comprise the Baton Rouge District Nurses Association. Only two nominations per institution will be accepted each year.
The cost per individual is $ 47.00. Tables of ten (10) may be reserved, cost is $470.00. Reservation forms must be submitted by August 21, 2020, a firm date. This year we are offering two options of payment: Check or Zelle.
