    Thirty-Second Annual Celebrate Nursing Banquet Was A Success

    The Baton Rouge District Nurses Association (BRDNA) held its  32nd Annual Celebrate Nursing Banquet May 3, 2021 at Boudreaux’s, 2647 Government St. in Baton Rouge.

    The event honors Registered Nurses from the 9 parishes which make up the district.  This year the theme was Year of the Nurse and Midwife 2020-2021.  The American Nurses Association extend the Year of the Nurse and Midwife to 2021 because of the Pandemic.   The month of May, is once again designated Month of the Nurse.  Over 140 nurses, family, friends and colleagues attended the event. 

    The honorees are employed by Baton Rouge General Medical Center, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University, Lane Regional Medical Center, Ochsner Medical Center-Baton Rouge, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Our Lady of the Lake Livingston, Pinnacle Care Holdings Home Health, The Spine Hospital, and Southeastern University School of Nursing.  

    The 2021 Honorees are: 

    Lauri Allen, Russell Arceneaux, Heather Best, Julie Blanchard, Brandon Bridges, Lori Chauvin, John Deshotel, Jr., Terrie Edwards, Claire Elfert, Davina Jacobs, Leigh “Jill” Fenn, Alexander Gaber, Leanne Jubin, Neal Manuel, Dell Mars, Margaret Moore, Beverly Nipple, Kristine O’Neal, Todd Pellitieri, Cindra, Schneider,Jessica Tate, Lacy Tidwell, Angela Toney, Kevin Triche, Sarah Wilson, April Wolleson and Stephen Yen.  

    We want to congratulate these Honorees for the dedication and their service to our citizens. 

    We would like to thank everyone who submitted a nominee and want to encourage all employers of nursing to participate in 2022.  Our banquet is always held in May in honor of Florence Nightingale’s birthday and our nominations usually open in early February.
